Mr. G's Unsolvable Crimes File
"The Case of the Cat-Tastrophe"

In the year 2260, Ruth Masters of Babylon 5's Brown Sector, led support for a local law forbidding one to own a pet cat. Apparently, one cat didn't appreciate Mrs. Masters' stand on the issue.

A month before the Command Staff was to vote on the proposed law, Mrs. Masters was doing some gardening in her hydroponics garden, minding her own business, when suddenly a white cat somehow gained entrance, and attacked her. It bit and clawed her hands so badly, she required treatment at the local medlab.

The cat was captured and taken to the local animal clinic for a 3-day observation period, to see if it was carrying any alien diseases. But two days later, the cat escaped, and incredibly made its way right back to the hydroponics garden.

Somehow the vengeful cat sneaked inside again, tore up the vegetable garden and then ran amok through her prize azaleas. The ferocious feline went on to attack the family's three children. "My garden is a total wreck," said Mrs. Masters. "The kids and I just barely got out of there with our lives. It was unbelievable."

To this point in time, the cat has not bothered them again. "But," said Mrs. Masters, "I had a nightmare that the cat rang my doorchime, and when I opened it, the cat said, 'I'm baaack!'"

(By the way, the Command Staff voted against the No Pet Cat Law, and no cat was ever found.)
